Favorite winter outfit ideas for looking stylish when it’s cold outside.

I get it! Winter can make you want to curl up under a blanket in your PJs and watch movies all day, waiting for Spring to arrive.

I used to really dislike winter but as I have gotten older, I actually have learned to embrace it.

Winter doesn’t have to mean frumpy, over-sized clothes. It can be a way to display the beauty of the season through your clothes.

I mean come on! What other time of the year can you wear sequins and shimmer from head to toe without people wondering if you are going to a disco or a... well, you get the point.

And on that note, I’m sharing with you my favorite winter outfit ideas so that you can adapt them to your authentic style.

  1. A sweater dress: Classic winter style that not only keeps you warm, but looks great with tights and heels, flats, or booties.

You can also forgo the tights and wear a tall boot. So many options! I also like them with a waist belt for more shape.

Another idea, you can pair it with a vest, duster, or car coat. They look nice with a faux fur duster!

  2. Jeans and a wool sweater: You can wear almost any type of winter shoe with this look. I said winter shoe because I don’t want to see you pulling out open-toe sandals or flip flops. No seriously, I have seen this and I ask that you please do not do this. You should have put those Spring/Summer shoes away.

Try a flat, booties, or a high heel. You can even add a scarf and some statement earrings. You can create a lot of warm, stylish outfits with jeans and a wool sweater.

  3. Wool skirt and blouse: The wool mini skirt is so popular this winter that it can be found in every woman’s clothing store. I love to pair it with opaque tights and a tucked in blouse. It can be worn with heels, flats, or booties, or tall boots.

  4. Ponte pants, tee, and bomber jacket or blazer: One of my favorite finds is my leopard print Sherpa bomber jacket. Not only is it crazy comfortable but it’s super cute and warm.

I wear it often with my black Ponte pants and just switch out the tee I wear under it. I also change between wearing sneakers to flats and then booties.
These pants are great for tall boots as well because they create a flat surface and will not wrinkle up underneath.

Now, take a look in your closet and put together several outfits using the suggested styles above. You will have several outfits to get you through the winter months and actually enjoy getting out of your PJ’s and experiencing how fun winter can be!
