Minimalist Style by Renae Kotarski

This week I had the honor of hosting a guest blog with Renae Kotarski, owner of Anástasi Fashion. Her work is based on the idea of a modern, minimalist, eco-friendly style. I personally have a few pieces from her line and I love how they flatter my shape and have a unique flare to them. Be sure to check out her website at Anástasi Fashion.

Minimalist Style by Renae Kotarski

I remember telling my shopaholic daughter and shopaholic oldest son how I’d managed to wear the same small wardrobe for all of fall and winter and the look of surprise on their faces. I remember how people would say, “Oh you’re a designer, that’s why you always dress nice." I say all of this because it took brand name change and a couple of lines to figure out what Anástasi Fashion would be. Anástasi is a Greek word that means resurrection. I’d even thought of reconstructing old garments but if you have a minimalist wardrobe you are always resurrecting each piece of clothing in your closet for a new day; a new event. You always have something to wear especially if you know what pieces look good on you (Not someone else).

Spring 2019 was when it hit me, and I’d always loved linen so all of my dresses where linen. Everything was modern and clean. Like minimalist art, the Anástasi Fashionista was a queen. The Modern Queen line is what I called it. But when I was urged by a marketing friend to make some pants finally and already. I did. I knew that this new line had to be as practical but bold as its brand name. As practical as I was and as bold for even starting a fashion line.

The Cape Tied Pant, All Tied Up split back Pant, the black Tencel Bloomer Short, and the white organic satin/linen Bloomer Short are all pieces that are high statement pieces and can be worn with the simplest of tops. The Modern Eclipse Blouse will pair well with a black or white skirt or pant and be worn to any formal or non-formal event. The Café Espresso Blouse and Queen Vamp Top can even be worn with jeans. Anything goes for the Fairytale Blouse.

In the coming seasons at Anástasi Fashion, there will be more pieces that can be built upon other pieces in a way that makes it your own look. There will always be that Anástasi dress that you have to have in your wardrobe because, as my daughter says, “That is fire!” Even in the midst of quarantine, there will be that not so plain white “Fairytale” blouse hanging in your wardrobe. You won’t even have to wonder whether or not you look good when you wear it for your Zoom meeting.
