5 Wardrobe Pieces to Invest in for Spring 2020

Girl wearing summer dress dancing in road

I don’t know about you, but we have been experiencing a mild winter here in Cincinnati. It has been disappointing with no snow and mild temperatures. If it’s going to be winter, I at least want some snow! I’m holding out on the second part of winter to not disappoint.

That said, Spring is coming and is only 8 weeks away (that is, unless our trusty groundhog friend says otherwise). This had me thinking about some of the beautiful styles I am seeing coming out in the Spring lines. And the colors are stunning as well. If you have not yet checked out the Pantone Spring/Summer 2020 colors, you can here:

I want to add that although chartreuse is not listed here, it is a major Spring color we are seeing all over the runway, red carpet, and in store windows. It’s everywhere! Pay attention to color next time you are shopping online or in the stores. You will notice these pantone colors as well as variations of chartreuse.

Here are my top 5 wardrobe pieces to invest in for Spring this year:

  1. Striped knit dress- I love this because you can dress it up or down and works so well for Spring. Plus, all of the colors can really brighten up your mood. Dress it down with sneakers, sandals, or pair it with a belt and boots.

  2. Bermuda shorts- I’m not talking the 1980s style but the dressed up, silk, flowy style. These are all over fashion runways and they look beautiful and chic. Pair them with high heels, dress sandal, or dress down with a flat sandal. I love when I see these as part of a jumpsuit as well!

  3. Floral print all around- Seeing floral print in everything is definitely something you want to include in your Spring wardrobe. Everything from beautiful tops, pants, shoes, shorts, and dresses, can be found in Spring fashion lines. You can’t go wrong including floral print into your Spring style.

  4. Statement Sleeves-Voluminous silhouettes that represent princess-like puff sleeves are part of Spring styles for 2020. These are beautiful yet they are mostly dressy in nature, you can dress them down with denim. I love these on all body types with the exception of those with a really strong inverted triangle body shape. The puffy sleeves could cause your shoulders to appear even wider.

  5. Loafers- If you haven’t purchased yourself some loafers yet, this Spring is the time! Loafers are so versatile and come in a variety of colors and styles. You can even try out the newer futurist styles and shades if you are more daring. I love loafers and wear them with denim, skirts, ponte pants, dress pants, dresses, you name it. You will get a lot of use out of them.

If this didn’t get you ready for Spring, I’m not sure what will! Wait, did I say I wanted snow earlier? Scratch that. I’m cheering for our groundhog friend to tell us on February 2nd that an early Spring is headed our way.
